Easter Pictures

Happy Easter, everyone!

Here are some Easter pictures. Not that they're Easter-themed, I just happened to take them today.

While we were out doing yard work today, I noticed the busy bees visiting all the lavender stalks and thought it would be a good use for my macro tube.
Of course, the problem with photomacrographing bees is that you have to be pretty close. One landed on my arm, startling me so much I threw my lens cap down the driveway. (I don't like bugs. Stinging bugs especially.) Next time I should try using my 300mm lens.Bee (Mar 23, 2008)

We picked about 40lbs of oranges today, and it barely made a dent in the tree. While I was getting some orange skin pics, Peanut added the glass long-dog to the composition. And that's not shag carpet; it's just a towel.

Cameraphones aren't useless

As much as I'd like to always have my dSLR handy, the truth is it's too bulky to take with me all the time. Especially when I add in telephoto and macro lenses "just in case." That's where having a camera on my cellphone comes in handy. Sure, it's not a great camera, but some of the pictures turn out pretty good, like these two from Santa Cruz.

Seen in the Local Used Bookstore

I saw this in the used bookstore here in Mountain View. I never did manage to find section #7 to see the nonfiction Star Trek books. Maybe you have to teleport there...

Deliah is a Lolcat

I finally submitted one of my pictures to I Can Has Cheezburger. You can see it here.
Deliah was on the bed, and I was down on the floor shooting up at her. The ceiling light was right above her, leading to the "alien" effect.

Pictures of Real People

Today, I have a real treat for everyone. Not only do I have pictures of actual people *gasp*, but also pictures of myself. That almost never happens.

I took these today after we got home from work.
This last one is a rare find. Both of us AND we're dressed up. Granted, I didn't take this one. It's from the Finisar 20th Anniversary party (3/8/08).

Well, I hope you enjoyed the change of pace. I'll get back to my usual pictures of pets and random things next time.
