By popular demand, I'm posting one last picture from the Memorial Weekend Trip to the City ®. (Actually, it wasn't popular demand, just the demand of one person who wanted to see how it turned out. I'm a pushover like that.) So, without any further ado, I present the Pier 43 Arch framing the SS Jeremiah O'Brien at sunset.

I wish I had captured it better. The colors were 10x more vibrant IRL.

Unfortunately, I have to get pretty close to use the macro lens (I didn't use the telephoto like I said last time). I also saw a big spider, but I was too busy beating it with a stick to take any pictures. I don't like spiders. I've only taken one picture of a spider. We ran into it while walking the dog, and that time I DID use my telephoto lens because I didn't want to get anywhere near it. The scariest picture I've taken.

Over Memorial Day weekend some friends from college were in the area, so we all went up to San Francisco to do the tourist thing. I was on my way down the hall when I noticed how Peanut's fern was reaching out into the evening sun. I had to run and get my camera before the light moved (as sunlight is wont to do). I really like the bokeh on the other fonds at the bottom. Pretty good pictures from the Thrifty Fifty.
